A steering group of Walled Towns representatives met today to agree an initial programme of activities for 2019. Plans include a symposium in October; development of a leaflet explaining the essential components of a walled town; development of an educational resource, to be developed in partnership with a teacher-training college; and a Scottish, Welsh, English and Irish walled towns visual arts competition. The activities are made possible by a generous donation from Peter Osborne, founder of the European Walled Towns Friendship Circle. Photographed are David Bruce, Bristol, Mark Lusby, Derry, Jane Hebblewhite, Chester, Trevor Hallett, Tenby, and Vicky Macdonald, Conwy.
